Albany, New York - New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has directed all flags on state government buildings to be flown at half-staff
Monday to honor the service members killed in this weeks military transport plane crash in Mississippi.
The governor said in part, quote, "These service members, many of whom were based out of Stewart Air National Guard Base, answered the call to serve this nation and defend its ideals. I share in the pain and the heartbreak caused by the deaths of these brave service members and urge everyone to keep them and their loved ones in your prayers during this difficult and trying time."
One of the marines killed was Gunnery Sergeant Brendan Johnson from Colchester Vermont.
He was 46.
