Despite cold, First Night will usher 2018 in with a bang

News

The cold weather won’t interrupt the Queen City’s First Night celebration.

Most of the events are indoors.

19 venues will be open for you on New Year’s Eve all within walking distance of each other.

It’s the 35th year of the event and organizers have seen all kinds of weather.

“We all who live in Vermont know, it’s good for us all to have good jackets, and good garments that protect us from the inside out.” Said Becky Cassidy, from First Night Burlington. “But it’s so quick moving around, it shouldn’t be that much of a concern, we’re all used to being in Vermont weather, our beautiful Vermont weather.”

You do have to buy a button to attend.

Sales are ahead of where they were this time last year.

However, you can get in for free if you want to volunteer.  For more information on how to volunteer click here.
