The 11th annual Festival of Trees, a fundraiser for the Advocacy and Resource Center, is set to begin on Tuesday in Plattsburgh.
Forty trees were being decorated Monday at the Champlain Centre in Plattsburgh.
A raffle ticket gives buyers a chance to take home one of the trees at the end of the festival.
The Advocacy & Resource Center serves 600 developmentally disabled people in Clinton County. It provides programs and services, including owning and operating 24 residences.
All the money raised stays in the county.
“We provide food baskets at the holidays for the developmentally disabled and their families,” said Jared West, with the Advocacy & Resource Center. “We have a program we provide emergency funding if a developmentally disabled person needs funds for a certain purpose.”
The Center also helps subsidize costs for Special Olympics athletes.
The Festival of Trees runs November 21st – December 2nd.
This year’s festival is sponsored by CFA Insurance Agency.
