Fire in Hinesburg destroys shed, kills livestock

A fire in Hinesburg Wednesday morning has killed a family’s livestock.

Fire crews were called to Charlotte road in Hinesburg just after 6 a.m.

Upon arrival, officials say the tool shed, that housed pigs, was on fire. According to Hinesburg Fire Chief Al Barber, four pigs were killed.

“Not quite sure of what the origin of the fire but suspect it was a probably a timer relating to a heater on a tractor,’ said Barber.

Crews from Charlotte, Monkton, Starksboro, and Shelburne responded to the fire.
