The former Howard Center employee accused of sexually assaulting a female client is expected to change his plea.

In December 2015, Robert Trepanier, of Winooski, pleaded not guilty to sexual assault.

Trepanier’s job at the Howard Center in Burlington was to supervise clients at the ACT 1/Bridge program.

In July, a woman who was there to detox accused him of forcing her to perform a sexual act.

He’s also accused of falsifying her release documents.

Trepanier was in court Tuesday for his change of plea hearing.

However, it was postponed until Thursday October 19th because the state is still working on logistics for counseling, which will be a requirement in the plea agreement.

The case lead to changes at the Howard Center.
