Monday was is a special day here at Local 22 and Local 44 News.
It’s Founder’s Day, marking the beginning of our parent company – Nexstar Media Group.
Each year employees at all Nexstar stations across the country volunteer in their communities.
This year we choice to help Camp Ta-Kum-Ta!
From mowing, to painting, sanding, and gardening the team got their hands dirty, helping out with various projects at Camp Ta-Kum-Ta in South Hero, a summer camp for kids with cancer.
30 members of the team worked on various projects around the more than 100-acre camp.
“Our committee for Day of Caring got together and talked about a lot of different organization here in our community. Camp Ta-Kum-Ta really shot to the top of the list because they provide a place where kids who are dealing with the unimaginable have a place to be normal and be kids,“ said Founder’s Day of Caring organizer Amanda Thibault.
Camp Ta-Kum-Ta has been serving kids with cancer for nearly 35 years.
