On the heels of President Trump’s controversial comments about New Hampshire being a “drug infested den,” Vermont Governor Phil Scott  is echoing sentiments by Granite State lawmakers that more needs to be done to curb the opioid crisis.

Governor Scott says he’s paying attention to what the federal government is doing about the opioid crisis.
While he didn’t address the president’s comments this afternoon, he reinforced comments about bringing in more resources to fix this problem.

“I believe that it is and we may be a little ahead of some states but we’re all far behind of this opiate crisis that we have on our hands.” Said Scott. “Anything we can do to identify this on a national scale is beneficial because it may bring more resources to this ever-growing problem that we’re facing here in this state and across America.”
