Gov. Scott signs bill easing military members transition into workforce

Military personnel and other officials gathered at Camp Johnson in Colchester, Vermont to witness Governor Phil Scott sign  H.906.
    
It’s a new law that will offer a direct pathway to open up opportunities for veterans and service members in need of jobs.
    
The law will expand skills and training military service members receive while enlisted.

It will also assist their transition from military to retirement.  .
    
Governor Scott says this bill will be the first step in growing our workforce and economy.

“These veterans are highly skilled and trained, and quickly contribute to their communities.” Said Governor Scott. “In my administration’s plan to grow our workforce, we believe service members are an asset, great employees, and we recognize the training they receive while serving their country.”
     
The ultimate goal is to make Vermont a destination for working age retiring military personnel.
