Grand Isle School Board to discuss principal resignation

The Grand Isle School Board will meet Monday.
Among the items on its agenda the elementary school principal’s resignation.
Last Friday Vermont State Police told us Eric Arnzen was facing multiple criminal charges, including driving while under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
The same night he was arrested a second time.
Police say while being released, he made obscene gestures and yelled at troopers.
He was later released, and cited to appear in court next month.
The school’s superintendent says he became aware of the arrest and circumstances based on the police report.
He says he placed Arnzen on paid administrative leave while the school evaluates how to proceed.
It’s unclear at what point Arnzen handed in his resignation letter to the school.
