A new house will soon become a home for two families.
Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity just completed a second duplex at the Harrington Village in Shelburne, VT.
Two families will now become homeowners.
Jonathan Ayers is moving into the duplex with his wife, Jennifer, and daughter, Amelia. He says it takes a village to build a home.
“The hard work of the staff, the the board, all the volunteers that have helped us out. The folks that provided materials. It’s just a real community effort and it’s something we’re super grateful to be part of,” Ayers said.
Habitat for Humanity says on average, it takes about 6 to 10 months to build one of the houses. About 300 to 400 volunteers help with the build.
