Intergenerational tradition at Ethan Allen Residence


BURLINGTON, Vt. – Every Tuesday, kids from the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington visit the senior residents at the Ethan Allen Residence. Also in attendance, are members of the Vermont Community Garden Network, who bring recipes for the kids and seniors to prepare.

The kids and seniors pick ingredients from the garden, make food with those ingredients, and then head to The Old North End Farmer’s Market to sell them.

Program organizers say that this program benefits both the seniors and children, by getting them to interact with one another and get involved in the community.
