With Hurricane Dorian set to make landfall sometime this weekend, people all across the country are stepping in to help, even a few in our region.

Two local volunteers from Vermont are heading down to Florida, today. Carol Conley of Essex Junction, VT will be in Jacksonville, FL to support a Red Cross shelter to help those who are being displaced. And Leo Haggerty of Pownal, VT will be stationed as a Shelter Supervisor in Tallahassee, FL.

Over in New York, as of Thursday August 29, 10 more Red Cross Volunteers from Eastern New York have been sent down to help with storm prep and other storm efforts.

The American Red Cross is always looking for help with volunteers and donations. If you are interested in donating, you can just visit their website.
