Barre City police have arrested a second person in connection to multiple allegations of child sexual assault, including charges of using a child in a sexual performance.
Roland Withers, 34, was arrested Thursday after police searched a Bergeron Street residence and uncovered evidence that he had sexually assaulted minor children.
On Friday, police arrested Robin Benedict, 38. She and Withers have been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, cruelty to a child and the use of a chid in a sexual performance.
Withers was also charged with aggravated domestic assault.
The investigation began Wednesday when police responded to a report of “ongoing domestic assault situation” at the Bergeron Street residence. Police say officers met Wednesday with an unidentified victim, who related multiple past assaults. The victim requested and received a temporary restraining order.
Withers and Benedict are being held for lack of bail. They are scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
