The Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington is set to release a long-awaited report on decades of alleged sexual abuse of minors by clergy.

The diocese said the report, including the names of clergy credibly accused of abuse dating back to 1950 will be available on the ‘Promise to Protect’ website at 9 a.m. Thursday.

We expect former Vermont priest Edward Paquette to be among those named. The now defrocked priest worked in Burlington, Rutland, and Montpelier, in the 1970’s. In 2010, a settlement of nearly $18 million was reached, and divided among 26 clients of local attorney Jerry O’Neill.

Burlington Bishop Christopher Coyne is expected to answer questions Thursday, following the release.

This summer, the Manchester, New Hampshire and Providence, Rhode Island dioceses published similar lists.
