A swimmer from Burlington will bring home at least two medals from the Special Olympics World Games.

If Kate Bove looks familiar, it may be because she appeared on Local 44 Morning Brew last June.

She won a bronze medal Tuesday in the 100-meter freestyle event at the games in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. She won a gold medal on Sunday in the 50-meter butterfly.

Kate is scheduled to swim in her third and final event — the 4-by-50-meter freestyle relay — on Wednesday.

She’s the only Vermont athlete competing in this year’s games. Special Olympics Vermont says she represented the Green Mountain State at the 2003 World Games in Dublin, Ireland, and at the 2014 USA Games in New Jersey.
