Police in South Burlington say a church group that approached young women in public and encouraged them to share personal information did nothing wrong.
Police say they received reports that the group approached “adolescent or young” women on two occasions during the 2018 holiday season, asking that they participate in bible study. Police said they were told the group was “very persistent” and asked for addresses and phone numbers from the women.
An investigation determined that the solicitation was not criminal or part of a scheme.
Police are reminding the public to safeguard safeguard personal information and report any confrontations that might be considered suspicious.
