Colchester police investigating possible assault at Costco

Woman apparently uninjured

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Colchester police are investigating a possible assault at Costco.

Police and Colchester Rescue were dispatched to the Costco parking lot Tuesday at 3:27 p.m., where officials say a woman told them she had been assaulted.

She was still on scene when first responders arrived. She was not taken to the hospital.

Another woman involved in the incident had left the scene, said Colchester Police Sgt. Francis Gonyaw.

“That person has since been identified. There is no threat to the public at this time. The case is still under investigation,” he said. “We're still in the process of collecting evidence. So no names or other information can be released at this time."

Police have interviewed several witnesses and reviewed security footage from Costco as part of the investigation.
