After several Burlington residents complained about a lack of pedestrian crossing on Pine Street, the Department of Public Works has a goal to put in two new crosswalks this summer.
Burlington City Councilor Joan Shannon published a post on Front Porch Forum, stating this news. She says residents have contacted her about a lack of safe crossing in the vicinity of Birchcliff Parkway and Pine Street.
The Department of Public Works responded to Shannon’s inquiry Tuesday with the following:
“We are hoping to install two new crosswalks along Pine this summer during the final layer of asphalt. One is proposed at Sears Lane and the other between the two Brewery’s. We are looking at all possible locations and creating plans/details for these two locations and aim to have them installed this construction season, 2019.”
