Police catch convicted killer who fled furlough

Police say a convicted killer who took off from furlough has been found and is now in custody.

They say they found William Wheelock in a home in Rutland City and took him in around 2 am on Wednesday morning.

According to police Wheelock cut off his electronic monitoring device last week, just a month after he was released from prison.

Wheelock was convicted of second-degree murder in 1978.
