With the partial government shutdown now in day 35, local businesses are continuing to find ways to help Vermont’s federal workforce.
On Thursday, the Echo Leahy Center for Lake Champlain said it would offer free admission to furloughed workers who live in Vermont and have a federal employment ID. One guest will also be admitted free.
“No one should ever have to have a barrier to the access to this museum for any reason especially financial,” said Kerin Durfee, Director of Guest Services at ECHO. “I do think there’s a lot of stress going on in those families and we want to get the word out there that this is a place where people can come.”
ECHO says the free admission will continue until the shutdown ends.
