An explosion and fire Thursday destroyed a guest house at West River Farm in South Londonderry on Thursday.

According to the Chester Telegraph, crews were able to put out the fire at 2793 Winhall Hollow Road in a little over an hour.

No one was inside at the time.

The fire is currently classified as undetermined, and it is not considered to be suspicious.

State police fire investigators say the owner of the property is Tim Dugan of Chicago. A caretaker on scene told police the house had “numerous” propane-fueled appliances inside.

Investigators say warmer temperatures caused snow and ice to fall and bury the propane gas regulator attached to the building.  Both the guest house and main house were fueled by one central 1,000 gallon underground tank.

Investigators say there were no obvious signs of a leak, but the fire destroyed any potential burn patterns.
