Four F-35 fighter jets that unexpectedly touched down in Burlington Wednesday, will be taking off Friday morning.
The Vermont National Guard announced a departure window between 7 and 10am.
The Guard says people may see and hear the planes during that time.
The jets from Hill Air Force Base in Utah, taxied to the Vermont Air National Guard, Wednesday morning where maintenance and security teams were ready. The planes were diverted to Burlington due to “weather and refueling schedules.”
Similar logistics could delay the planned Friday morning take-off.
The Guard is reminding Vermonters these F-35’s are not attached to the Vermont Air National Guard, or 158th Fighter Wing.
