It was business as usual for the Green Mountain Inn in Stowe after a small fire broke out early Sunday morning.
Inkeeper Patti Clark said no one was injured. The fire broke out on the back side of the ‘Health Club’ building and was contained to the outside of the building.
Clark credited staff for keeping guests safe. She said fire fighters acted quickly before the fire had the chance to spread.
“It started at about 12:30 am, by 3:00 am the fire department had wrapped up. We have an amazing fire department,” she said..
The inn was 98 percent full thje night of the fire, Clark said. But neighboring hotels stepped up to accommodate guests.
“Amazing,” Clark said. “They were gracious to accept our guest and provide as much care to our guests as possible give then circumstances.”
Most rooms that suffered smoke damage will be back in order by the end of this week, Clark said. Two rooms will be out of commission until September, she said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. It’s not considered suspicious.
