Kayakers find body in water near Ferrisburgh fishing area

Two kayakers discovered the body of a deceased person in the water in Ferrisburgh on Sunday afternoon, according to state police.

Police say they found the body near the Lewis Creek Fishing access area off Long Point Road.

The body has been identified but the name is being withheld until next of kin is notified.

The body was taken to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Police do not suspect foul play.
