Killacky steps down as head of Flynn Center for Performing Arts

Local News

The Flynn Center for the Performing Arts said goodbye to its long-time executive director John Killacky.

In 8 years in the position, Killacky grew the Flynn’s budget by almost a $1 million and helped raise the endowment to $11 million to support scholarships, arts programs and classes.

“I think it was the quieter moments that were more satisfying for me because I learned something,” Killacky said. “I was nurtured in a different way and I felt like my world got bigger, even after all these years working in the arts. My whole life has been in the arts, so it has been an extraordinary gift to work at the Flynn here.”

Anna Marie Gewirtz was named Flynn’s new executive director in June.
