Lebanon police connect with community through ice cream

Local News

The Lebanon Police Department welcomed the community on Wednesday for a chance to “chill” with some ice cream. Officers served up the sweet treat, courtesy of Walpole Creamery, and took the opportunity to come together in an” informal, relaxed setting” to discuss community issues, build relationships, and of course enjoy the ice cream.

“The majority of contacts law enforcement has with the public happen during emergencies, or emotional situations. Those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship building with the community, and some community members may feel that officers are unapproachable on the street,” Lebanon PD said in a statement.
