BARRE, Vt. – A favorite board game is brought to life.

Welcome to Candy Land in Barre.

Players of all ages walk the board to pay a visit to the Candy Cane Forest and Gum Drop Mountain.

But it wasn’t just all fun and games, the life-size Candy Land took donations to benefit a little boy in the community, Drew Bernier who is battling cancer.

“Very grateful for it, we wouldn’t be able to get through this without the support we’ve received. It’s been fantastic,” said Marie Bernier, Drew’s mother.

“It feels good, I think the community has rallied around from the beginning. Everyone has kind of done a little bit and done their part, and it’s great to see this far into it different events going on,” said Jake Larrabee, from Barre.

Drew recently underwent a bone marrow transplant, and is being treated at the Children’s Hospital in Boston.
