New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon MacDonald provided new details in the investigation into the suspicious death of Margaret “Peggy” Clarke of Newport, saying an autopsy shows she was shot to death.

The autopsy was performed Wednesday and showed the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest and the manner of death is homicide.

Clarke was found dead in her home at 553 Maple Street on May 7 by officers responding to a 911 call that a woman had been shot.

Police believe they now know everyone that was involved and there is no general threat to the public, MacDonald said in a statement.
