Plattsburgh teen discusses his book, ‘I am Odd, I am New,’ on living with autism

Six years ago, Benjamin Giroux of Plattsburgh wrote a poem for a class assignment called ‘I am Odd, I am New.’

The poem by the 10-year-old, who has autism, gained worldwide attention, inspiring people to embrace who they are. Flash forward a few years, and the poem is now a children’s book. Benjamin and his father, Sonny Giroux, sat down with Libbi Farrow to talk about the book, which is set to be published Tuesday.
