Police say an Essex Junction woman is behind two convenience store robberies hours apart in Colchester and South Burlington.

Theresa Marking, 22, was arrested after police identified a suspected vehicle in the case near Hinesburg Road and Kennedy Drive and followed it to Shelburne Road. Officers from South Burlington, UVM and Burlington pulled the vehicle over and identified Marking as the robbery suspect.

Police say they found clothing Marking allegedly wore during the robberies and a replica Glock BB pistol in the car.

Colchester police say Marking went into the Champlain Farms on Roosevelt Highway around midnight Wednesday, produced a handgun and demanded money. Two hours later, police in South Burlington received a similar report from Maplefield’s on Williston Road.

Marking was arraigned on one count of attempted assault and robbery connected to the South Burlington incident.

Additional charges are expected.
