Police investigating human remains found in Searsburg

Vermont State Police are investigating the discovery of human remains in the town of Searsburg. 

Police responded to a report that a person had found a human jawbone at a gravel pit on Somerset Road.

VSP’s Field Force and Criminal Division collected the jawbone, which was brought to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington.

Police continue to search the area while authorities try to identify the remains.
