New York State Police arrested a 15-year-old student Monday for making a terroristic threat at Beekmantown Central School.

Troopers called to the school say the threat involved a fake photo of a student displaying a weapon that contained threatening comments. Troopers say the photo was shared widely on social media.

State police say they now consider the alleged threat not credible, and there is no risk to students or faculty in the district.

Police said the student faces felony charges. No court date had been set Monday.
