Vermont State Police are waiting for autopsy results on an elderly man who died Monday while logging in Hartland.
Troopers say the 71-year-old Woodstock man was in a wooded area off of Garvin Hill Road shortly before noon.
Police say a friend had been trying to contact the man, but had been unable to do so. The friend reportedly went to the property where the man had been logging by himself and found him unresponsive, pinned underneath a downed tree.
The man’s body has been sent to the Chief Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy, but at this point, troopers say they believe his death was an accident.
The man\’s name is being withheld until his family is notified.
