A Vermont man is facing multiple charges after police say he hit two cars while driving drunk on Interstate 93 in New Hampshire on Tuesday.

According to New Hampshire State Police, witnesses reported a car was driving erratically on the road between Concord and Hampton; weaving between lanes, tailgating, and passing in the breakdown lane.

The car was spotted by a trooper who was able to stop it in Campton, identifying the driver as Robert Harris, 26, of St. Johnsbury, Vermont.

After stopping the car the trooper learned it had hit two cars between Concord and Plymouth, causing heavy damage to one and leaving the scene of both collisions.

Harris was arrested and faces multiple charges, including DWI and resisting arrest or detention for fighting the trooper during booking.

The investigation is ongoing, anyone who was on the interstate at that time and believes they witnessed the incident should call Trooper Lori Turhune at 603-223-8767.
