The Chittendon Unit for Special Investigations says sex offender Tyler Orvis will be released from incarceration on May 22nd. Orvis plans to reside in Milton and will be supervised by the Vermont Department of Corrections-Burlington Probation and Parole.

Authorities say Orvis sexually assaulted a 19 year-old female acquaintance who was intoxicated and unconscious when he was 20.

The Vermont Department of Corrections said Orvis’ risk to commit another sexual offense is “in the high risk range” and his risk for “general criminal recidivism” is also high. Were he to re-offend, his victims would likely be adult women, authorities said.

Mr. Orvis will also be listed on the Vermont Sex Offender Registry.
