Vermont Republicans have picked replacement candidates to run for five offices, including the U.S. House and U.S. Senate, two weeks after perennial candidate H. Brooke Paige secured the slots in the state’s primary election.

The Republican Party State Committee on Wednesday nominated Anya Tynio (TEEN-yo) for the U.S. House and Lawrence Zupan for the U.S. Senate. Both lost to Paige in the primary. It also chose state Rep. Janssen Willhoit to run for attorney general; Rick Kenyon for state auditor and Rick Morton for treasurer.

Paige said he ran in the primary to keep Democrats from getting the GOP nomination as write-in candidates. He was the sole GOP candidate in a number of races. He later withdrew from five races and plans to run for secretary of state.
