An autopsy has determined that the remains found at a New Hampshire wastewater treatment facility last week were those of a nonviable fetus.

Police are still attempting to locate the mother “to ensure her health and welfare,” said the New Hampshire attorney general’s office Monday.

The autopsy concluded that the pregnancy loss was the result of a spontaneous natural miscarriage, and that the fetus had not taken a breath.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Conway Police Department at (603) 356-5715.
