A Rutland man faces federal drug charges after he sold heroin and fentanyl to a confidential informant.
Jonathon R. Gallagher was arrested Friday after being charged in a four-count indictment that includes possession of heroin with intent to distribute, distribution of heroin and distribution of fentanyl.
The investigation by the Vermont Drug Task Force and the FBI began in November. Gallagher’s indictment on charges of possession with intent to distribute heroin stems from a 2017 traffic stop in which Gallagher was found with 1,347 bags of heroin.
He was also indicted on two counts of distribution of heroin and one count of distribution of fentanyl.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
