Student marching bands parade kicks off Vermont All State Music Festival

Local News

MONTPELIER – Three days of intense rehearsals culminated in a march through Montpelier for dozens of Vermont students as the Vermont All State Music Festival got started.

It’s just the second time in 92 years the parade was held in Montpelier – Gov. Phil Scott was on hand to snap some pictures as Spaulding High School, where he graduated, passed by the State House.

The event is the longest-running annual state parade in the country, and is open to any school marching group from elementary to high school.
