An anonymous tip led police in upstate New York to a man suspected in the killing of a retired Army veteran whose body was found in the LaChute River in Ticonderoga last week.

Michael LaRock, 38, was been found Monday hiding at a home in Norfolk, near the Canadian border.

The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports LaRock was arrested without incident and has been charged with second-degree murder, aggravated criminal possession of a weapon, tampering with physical evidence and concealment of a human corpse.

Police say LaRock killed 37-year-old William Brown, whose body was found Friday morning with a gunshot wound to the head. Brown was a retired U.S. Army veteran.

Two other men were arrested Saturday in connection to Brown’s death — Joshua W. Smith, 35, Donald C. LaRock, both of Ticonderoga — and have been charged with one count each of first-degree hindering prosecution, tampering with physical evidence and concealment of a human corpse.

Authorities haven’t said what led to the killing. Brown was a retired U.S. Army veteran.
