Road crews are expected to be busy for the next two days, shoring up a failing portion of Vermont 117 between Essex and Richmond.
The Department of Transportation says the road between the Essex/Jericho Town line to US 2 in Richmond is in “ROUGH” shape due to heavy rainfall.
The agency says contract crews are “doing everything they can to minimize the failing road condition.”
Operations are expected to continue through daylight hours Friday and resume 6 am Saturday once the wet weather leaves the area.
VTRAN suggests travelers seek alternate routes if possible.
