Two-month drug investigation leads to arrest of Rutland man

A 25-year-old Vermont man faces fentanyl trafficking charges after state troopers arrested him outside a Price Chopper in West Rutland.

Tyler R. Bushey of Rutland was on furlough for grand larceny and other charges when he was approached Wednesday by troopers and members of the Vermont Drug Task Force.

Officers found 37 bags of suspected fentanyl and heroin, along with 4.5 grams of crack cocaine. Bushey had been under investigation since April and had made several drug sales to police informants

Bushey faces four drug-related felonies, including fentanyl trafficking and two counts of sale of heroin. He was in custody Thursday at at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility on the furlough violation.

Bushey is scheduled to be arraigned on the new charges on July 15, 2019.
