North America’s largest marketplace devoted to specialty food producers showcases 24 Vermont entrepreneurs and their products over the weekend In New York City.
The Fancy Food show, hosted by the specialty food association had over 2,400 companies exhibiting over 200,000 specialty foods. More than 50 countries participated in this year’s show.
The goal of the event is to get companies in front of prospective buyers to grow their businesses and increase their popularity. This could potentially lead to more stores carrying their products.
Multiple awards were given out at this years show but one of the more coveted ones was the Sofi award. The award, Established in 1972, recognizes the work of SFA member companies. The 2019 Sofi Awards produced 139 Winners in the Gold, Silver, Bronze, and New Product categories.
Many Vermont companies won Sofi awards, in all Categories, including Vermont Creamery, Vermont Maple Cream, Black Hill Preserves, and Runamok Maple just to name a few.
At the end of the show, exhibitors donated unopened products to the Specialty Food Foundation, which in turn donates to the Summer Fancy Food Show’s charity of choice.
