NFL fans in Vermont were excited to see the New England Patriots back in the big game.
“Patriots! We’re diehard fans,” said Celeste Baker and Joe Polazac. “It often comes down to one catch or one final field goal. We’re not super confident, but we’re super hopeful.”
It may be New England country, but there were still some rooting for the Los Angeles Rams.
“I’m hoping for a Ram’s victory,” said Ray Fitzpatrick. “I’m actually a Seahawks fan, but in lieu of that the Rams are my pick.”
With Super Bowl festivities comes a lot of food. Throughout the weekend, Americans are predicted to eat 1.3 billion chicken wings according to the National Chicken Council.
“It is the busiest day of the year for sure.” said Dave Lang, General Manager at Wings Over in South Burlington. “It’s a lot of prep work and calculating what we think we’re going to need for today.”
Many fans also stopped by Jim’s Sports in the University Mall to gear up for the big game. Owner Jim Vitanos already put in his order for championship apparel and will have it available by Wednesday.
“They do give me the option of ordering and getting it in advance,” he said. “If I pick the wrong team, then I’m stuck with that product and not allowed to sell it.”
