Vermont State Police search for missing mother and son

SOMERSET, Vt.- Vermont State Police is searching for a mother and son who were last seen at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Somerset Reservoir.

Police say Allison Passage, 29, and her son, James Lake, 11, both of Bennington were reported missing Saturday night.

The pair are not avid hikers and are unfamiliar with the area. 

Police say foul play is not suspected, but there are concerns for their welfare.

Passage is described as white, 5’6” weighing 160 pounds, with blonde hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a white ruffled tank top and spandex pants.

Lake is described as white, 4’9” weighing 100 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

The state police Field Force and Criminal divisions, state police Search and Rescue Team, the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department, New England K-9 Search and Rescue, the Upper Valley Wilderness Response Team, Rescue Inc., Wilmington Fire and Rescue and the Bennington Police Department have all been assisting in the investigation.

Anyone with information about their location or who may have seen them at the Somerset Reservoir is asked to contact state police in Westminster at 802-722-4600.
