Ah, after a few stubborn morning clouds, we all were treated to some beautiful afternoon sunshine Thursday afternoon! (sorry NEK, I know you didn’t get as much sun as the rest of us) Hope you enjoyed it while it lasted because clouds are moving in tonight and rain arrives for Friday. Grab those rain boots and umbrellas you’re probably going to need them!

A brief area of high pressure brought us this beautiful weather, but that is being pushed off the coast as our next system sneaks on in by Friday morning. It will start off as lighter showers but heavier downpours will cross through the region. In terms of rainfall were looking at anywhere between .5 and 1.0 inches.

As of right now, our river flood threat looks to be minimal. The rivers will definitely be running high and fast on the back side of Saturday, but the difference between this system and last weekend storm, or the one we saw on April 14-15, is that our snowpack has diminished significantly, meaning that extra water won’t be added to the rivers on top of the rain falling from the sky.

Rain showers and yes even a few mountain snow showers will be with us Saturday morning as this system moves out of the area.
