Good morning! Happy Valentine’s Day!
A quiet day is a lovely Valentine’s day gift from Mother Nature, especially considering we close out the week with messy weather Friday. Thursday, morning clouds spit flurries and the occasional snow shower at us, but gradual clearing occurs throughout the day, promising a bit more sunshine than we’ve seen in the last days by the afternoon. High temp, near 30 degrees. West wind 5-15 mph. Tonight, clouds fill back in again as we bottom out at midnight near 15-20 degrees.
Friday, a warm front lifts north mid to late morning bringing a messy mix of valley rain and higher terrain snow. Slippery roads from that slushy snow are possible, but travel impacts shouldn’t be widespread. By early to mid afternoon, the attendant cold front sweeps through, dropping temps from a midday high of 35-40° and turning any raindrops over to snowflakes. Scattered, light snow showers then take us from Friday evening into Saturday morning. Snowfall totals are meager, just a coating to 1-3″ max.
Saturday, morning snow showers wind down, much like today, with a partly cloudy sky. Near 30 degrees. Sunday, living up to its name, is mostly sunny. Low 20s.
Have a fantastic day!
