The attorney for a West Chazy man accused of killing his grandmother in November wants a judge to decide if Gustavo Segundo-Clark should have a mental health exam.
Segundo-Clark is charged with murdering Ginger Clark, as well as stealing her car and her credit card. He’s pleaded not guilty to the charges and is being held without bail.
His defense attorney wants the judge to decide if Segundo-Clark is competent to stand trial. Meanwhile, the Clinton County District Attorney’s Office is asking for his medical records and mental health records.
Ginger Clark, who lived with her grandson, was found dead in their home on Thanksgiving Day. An autopsy reportedly showed that her throat had been cut several times.
Prosecutors are also asking the judge to release her car to them as potential evidence.
