Bonnie Berry is a nearly 24-year cancer survivor, and that is just one reason she helps volunteer with Relay for Life.
She just finished putting together the 21st annual event on Saturday, June 16.
“You make connections with people. I feel that we have to find a cure for this, it affects so many families, so many people, young people, there is no discrimination for age with cancer, and if we don’t do research to find a cure, nothing is going to happen. We have to do research to find a cure, and that is the big push of relay,” Berry said.
Her friend Joan Sterling said Berry has been helping her me with Relay for Life for “many, many years.
“And she’s somebody who doesn’t know how to retire because she’s retired so many times, but one thing she has never retired from is Relay for Life,” Sterling said.
LOCAL 22 & LOCAL 44 is a proud supporter of Relay for Life.
