Low Income Healthcare Program for Kids Lapses

A children’s health care program for low income kids has lapsed.
It’s called CHIP and it covers 9-million kids, 7-thousand of which are in New York’s North Country.
If Congress doesn’t pass a bill for the program soon, states could run out of money by the end of March.
Governor Andrew Cuomo said in a statement that the government is making cuts that target our children and the most vulnerable among us.

Programs in California, Nevada, and Utah will go broke by the end of the year.
